Click the Mail icon in the Dock. If you are launching Mail for
the first time, it prompts you to set up an account. If you already have an
account in Mail, and wish to add another account, open the Mail application
and follow the menu path Mail > Preferences > Accounts, then click
on the + (plus) sign in the lower-left corner.
Enter the following information: The Full Name field should
be your name people will see when they get your email. In the Email Address
field, enter your email address (user@smgazette.com). In the Password
field, enter your password. Click Continue.
In the Incoming Mail Server window, enter the following configuration
settings: On the Account Type pop-up menu select POP. For Description
enter Gazette Record. For Incoming Mail Server, enter mail.smgazette.com.
Mail automatically fills in the User Name and Password fields
for you. Click Continue.
If the computer is not online and cannot verify the account it
will ask for an Authentication method. Choose Password.
In the Outgoing Mail Server window, enter the following configuration
settings: In the Description field, enter Gazette Record. For
Outgoing Mail Server enter smtp.smgazette.com. Click the Use
Authentication checkbox. Mail automatically fills in the User Name
and Password fields for you. Click Continue.
If the computer is not online and cannot verify the account it
will ask for an Authentication method. Choose Password.
Mail displays an Account Summary, which should look similar
to the following. Click Create.
